Eyelash Extension After Care
- No water, sweat or steam, sauna, etc for a minimum of 24 hours
- After the intial 24 hours, it is safe to get your lashes wet. You can shower, swim, exercise, etc like normal, but you will want to avoid HOT water (Jacuzzi) or steam directly on the face (opening the dishwasher, facial with steam, sauna) and direct heat (oven, bonfire/bbq).
- It is very important that you keep your lashes clean. Use a lash bath to rinse them daily or every other day. Gently wash the lashes in a downward motion, do not rub side to side as this can loosen the bonds. You can use your fingers , soft makeup brush or a spoolie (mascara wand) to do this. Gently pat dry your lashes after washing them and brush with a spoolie to avoid clumping. Alway brush your lashes after getting them wet (swimming, crying, washing your hair, etc).
- Use the spoolie to brush in the morning and at night.
- Do not use mascara on lashes, EVER.
- Eyeliners will cause glue bond to weaken so it is recommended to avoid liner completely. A good alternative is powder shadow with water on an angled brush to define the lash line.
- Do not touch, rub or pull lashes.
- Avoid oily products (makeup, creams, oils, sunscreen, hair conditioner, etc) on or near the lashes. Micellar water contains oil--even the one labeled OIL FREE.
- Do not sleep on your face and be careful when sleeping on your side. A “lash safe” eye mask is recommended for sleeping.
- Never use lash curlers.
- Maintain your touchups. Your first fill is recommended after two weeks of the initial applications. You can go 2-3 weeks between fills for subsequent appointments. Please note, a fill is considered when a minimum of 40% of lashes remain. If there is less than 40% of lashes, a new set will be required.
- If you need them removed, please come back for professional removal. Do not remove them yourself.
